Jamaica has faced a fair amount of challenges throughout the year of 2013, spiraling from the IMF negotiation to the cost of living going up; but nevertheless, 2013 was another great year for Jamaica and Jamaicans alike. This year was one of outstanding achievements,our ambassadors went out and carried our flags proudly showing the world how resilient we are as a people. Below is a list of special Jamaican moments of 2013.
Jamaica's IAAF World Championships 2013 Moscow Performance - At the end of the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow Jamaica has amassed an amazing total of nine medals which included six gold, two silver and a bronze. The Jamaican relay team relay teams made us proud by securing first place in both the male and female 4x100 m relays. Both teams did exceptionally well in representing our country. All this is testament to the meaningfulness of Boys and Girls Champs.

Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Crowned 2013 World Athletes of the Year - After coping the sprint doubles both athletes went on to lead the sprint relay teams to gold medals at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow. It should have come as no surprise as these two shining Jamaicans went on to claim the 2013 World Athletes of the Year awards. Thank for making Jamaica proud.

The Voice Season 5 Moment - Singing sensation Tessanne Chin from Kingston Jamaica,was one of the many contestant on the American talent show The Voice. Her hard work and soulful renditions each week, captivated not only the Jamaican Diaspora but other people worldwide.We all were overjoyed that her hard work and dedication paid off when she was announced the winner for The Voice Season 5. Well done.

Chris Gayle led Jamaican Tallawahs in the inaugural Caribbean Premier League - Prolific batsman Chris Gayle guided and led the Jamaican Tallawahs to victory in the inaugural Caribbean Primer League. The Guyana Amazaon Warriors were restricted to 128 for 5 in the alloted 20 overs. The Jamaican Tallawahs then won by 7 wickets, a very convincing fashion.

Jamaica Sunshine Girls in the World Fast 5 Series - While they didn't win their tournament they continue to show the Jamaican determination to succeed on their way to claim third place in the FAST5 Netball World Series. They did so by beating South Africa 44-17 in the third-place play-off.

Alia Atkinson Swimming Achievements in the 2013 FINA World Cup Tour - This young lady made Jamaicans unbelievably proud as she racked up medal after medal at the FINA Swimming World Cup Tour. Coping over 18 medals over the eight legs of World Cup Tour. No fewer than eight (8) gold medals, five (5) silver and five bronze over the series. I salute this amazing Jamaican.

Nicholas "The Axeman" Walters retains WBA Featherweight Title - In a fight that lasted only four rounds Nicholas "The Axeman" Walters fought and defeated Mexico's Alberto Garza at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas to retain his WBA Featherweight Title.
